Last week we got back from our trip west and concluded the second part of my search for a grad school. We visited Boise State University. I'm looking at their Applied Historical Research Masters program. We toured the campus, which was pretty and very green (compared to the rest of Boise). Boise, in general, is basically a big Sioux Falls... which is kinda weird. I didn't get to meet with anybody from the history department but I got contact information form the department secretary.
Overall, I liked the school, but I have to decide if I really want to do research. Honestly, I'm not actually sure what I want to do... museum work has the potential to be super cool but also moderately boring... I suppose I have time to kinda figure it out.
The other night, while ranting about the absurdity of the GRE (aka that it is outdated and such), my mom suggested a degree, PhD maybe, in education policy. Maybe... but then my years of education jokes would be for nothing... still, education in our country is headed downhill, but that is a topic for another time.
And there it stands, the schools in England are looking better and better.
